Study at our department as an international student—either as part of an exchange program or with the goal of earning a degree. There are no tuition fees at Freie Universität. Our 19 institutes offer a wide range of BA and MA programs, many of which are taught in English.

International students will find numerous support and information services at the Department of History and Cultural Studies and at Freie Universität. Help is available with organizing your studies, as well as psychological support for stress and difficult life situations. Tips on finding accommodation, work, and financial support make it easier to get started in Berlin. Our Arrival Guide collects this and much more information. The International Office (Kristina Cassar and Hauke Ziemssen) is the point of contact for international students. Our student mentors provide quick and straightforward assistance with all questions relating to everyday university life.
