Examination Office at the Department of History and Cultural Studies

Current Information: 

Due to current affairs we would like to inform you that the examination office will only be available to a very limited extent.

The regular processing time of requests will be delayed accordingly. A general first response time of at least 2 weeks for e-mail requests is to be expected. Please do not send duplicate e-mail requests.

We are currently not personally available. Consultation hours are cancelled until further notice. Please submit any concerns you may have exclusively by e-mail*.  A telephone consultation is available every Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

 

Starting 19.09.2022, the following telephone consultation hours will take place:
Tuesday: 11.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.
Thursday: 10.00 to 11.30 a.m.



Please send your applications and forms exclusively by e-mail* from your Zedat e-mail address.

Until further notice, the bachelor-/master thesis must be submitted digitally as a non-modifiable PDF** file via e-mail* to the examination office. If document protection is used, open, print and comment without password has to be allowed. The printed copies are no longer required during this time. 


 

Please note the new regulation of the

Deadline for submission of final papers!!!

Final papers for which the opening letter or an extension has been sent since Jan. 24, 2022, must be

 

received on the day of submission no later than 4:00 p.m.

 

digitally by the examination office.

 


*Note: Please send all your applications and forms exclusively by e-mail* from your university-e-mail address (Zedat-Account).

If you no longer have access to your Zedat account, please send us a copy of your ID document and the following information to verify your private email address: Name, matriculation number, program of study, enrollment period.

Office hours

On-site consultation hours are cancelled until further notice. The telephone consultation hours are taking place.

Tuesdays: 10.00 am - 12.30 pm

Thursdays: 10.45 am - 13.15 pm

Please note: Due to data privacy, please bring an official photo identification (ID card, passport or driver's license) to the Examination Office, so that we can share personal information regarding your studies. Your Campus Card and insurance card are not considered offical photo identification.

Important information on waiting number distribution: first login 5 minutes before the start of the office hours.

Preferential Registration: Students with special challenges (such as care duties for children or care-dependent relatives, mental/physical special needs or chronic illness) may certainly register for our office hours preferentially (by use of a check mark in the registration process; attestation is required).

A certain processing time must be taken into account for all procedures. For Bachelor's and Master's thesis openings, credits, and the preparation of final documents, allow approximately five weeks for processing.

 

Instructions for the deadline to request a certificate of achievement for the master's application:

Master's teaching degree by July 14.

Subjects with no admission restrictions by April 30.

Subjects with restricted admission by April 30.

Subjects outside the FU Berlin up to four weeks before the application deadline.

For applications received later, timely processing cannot be guaranteed.

Bachelor's Degree Programs

Registration of the Bachelor Thesis

When registering for the bachelor thesis and, if applicable, oral examination, please bring the completed and signed application form, including the documents listed on the form.


Application for Graduation

Please note that in the Bachelor's and Master's degree programs, the application for graduation must be submitted to the Examination Office within four weeks after the last examination has been taken. It is not necessary to wait for the complete documentation of grades by the lecturers in Campus Management.
