This year's Hedwig-Hintze Women's Award at the Department of History and Cultural Studies goes to Shelley Harten.

Since 2012 outstanding prizes have been awarded by women.

Shelley Harten received her doctorate in history on 5 July 2016 with a focus on New History. Her interdisciplinary PhD thesis is titled: A Desert in the Mirror. Representations of the "Arab" and the "Orient" at Yishuv and Israeli Visual Arts 1906-1957.

The prize will be awarded during the semester closing ceremony next Wednesday, 14th February 2018.
