Prof. Dr. Elena Giannoulis has been awarded €560,000 over five years as part of the Heisenberg Program of the German Research Foundation (DFG). Giannoulis conducts research at the Institute of Japanese Studies at the intersection of regional studies, emotion studies, and literary and cultural studies. With her research on "emotions," she is establishing a pioneering field in Japanese studies and contributing to the introduction of new theories and methods in the field.
