On Wednesday, November 26, 2025, starting at 6:00 p.m. c.t. Prof. Dr. Dragoş Diaconescu (Muzeul Banatului Timisoara) will give a lecture entitled "50 years later. Another barrow belonging to the Late Bronze Age (Bronze D - Hallstatt A1 stage) from Susani (Timis county, Romanian Banat)." The lecture will also be streamed online (see link below).

Since 2017, an ongoing research project focusing on a plundered burial mound (barrow) from Susani, in the eastern part of Timiș County (Romanian Banat), has provided valuable insights into the chronology and behaviour of Late Bronze Age communities of the region in relation to funerary practices and beliefs concerning the world of the dead. This project continues somehow the line of research initiated fifty years earlier by another archaeological excavation, conducted between 1965 and 1973, on a different barrow in the same area, which was interpreted, at the time of its publication (in Praehistorische Zeitschrift 1977), as a cultic site also associated with funerary activities.
