Hybrid Lecture: The Russia-Ukraine War and its Influence on International Relations: China's Perspective

The ongoing Russia-Ukraine war has shaken the landscape of International Relations. It confronts the international community with fundamental questions and challenges on the capabilities and capacities of the international order and future developments of international security. In his lecture, Prof. Dr. Huang Jing explores China's perspectives and positions on these issues and introduces focal points of China's strategic considerations.

Prof. Dr. Huang Jing
黄靖 is an internationally recognized expert on Chinese politics, China's foreign relations, and security issues in the Asia-Pacific region. He is Professor and Director of Institute of the U.S. and Pacific Studies at Shanghai International Studies University and is currently a Richard von Weizsäcker Fellow at Robert Bosch Academy Berlin. His book, Factionalism in Chinese Communist Politics (Cambridge University Press, 2000), won the prestigious Masayoshi Ohira Memorial Prize in 2002. He was Senior Fellow at the John Thornton China Center at the Brookings Institution (2004-2008) and has also taught at Harvard University (1993-94), Utah State University (1994-2004) and Stanford University (2002-2003). He received his PhD in Political Science from Harvard University, and his M.A. in History from Fudan University.
