Mastering and understanding your corpus is the foundation of discourse analysis. Computer technology has made available a large number of different corpora. Their search and analysis is also becoming more and more convenient. In this hands-on workshop, Mr. Qian Gang, co-director of the China Media Project and a Richard von Weizsäcker Fellow at the Robert Bosch Academy, will take the text of the political report to the party congress of the CCP as an example to help students understand the use of one small corpus and how we can analyze it. The workshop will be conducted in Chinese with some English; the analyzed Material will be in Chinese.
David Bandurski, co-director of the China Media Project and also Richards Weizsäcker Fellow at the Robert Bosch Academy, and Katja Levy, Professor for Chinese Politics and Law at FU Berlin will co-host the workshop.
The workshop will take place
