ABOUT THE PROJECT

WORKING TITLE
Love’s Natural Turns: The Birth of the Modern Fight for Queer Liberation

SUMMARY
The future does not promise progress for queer folks. In that way, the story of the Institut für Sexualwissenschaft (Institute for Sexual Science), which once was a beacon of progress in Berlin, Germany, is a queer tale as old as time. "Love's Natural Turns" is a documentary illuminating the life and legacy of the institute's founder, the "Einstein of Sex," Magnus Hirschfeld : a gay, socialist, poly, Jewish, German physician, sex researcher, and founder of the world’s first gay rights movement.
