I am an Egyptologist (PhD) studying the phonetics and phonology of ancient Egyptian languages. My research focuses on new applications of computational techniques to improve our understanding of the spoken Egyptian language at all points in history, but especially beginning with the later stages of the language. I am most interested in techiniques for the digitization of scripts and texts from ancient Mediterranean civilizations, especially during the First Millennium BCE, and the curation of robust data sources for further computational study.
