Cinzia Pappi ist Altorientalistin und Archäologin mit Schwerpunkt auf den Kulturen des alten Mesopotamiens. Sie promovierte an der Universität Udine (Italien) und war an mehreren internationalen Universitäten und Forschungsprojekten tätig, darunter die Universität Leipzig, Brown University (USA), die Universität Innsbruck (Österreich) und die Freie Universität Berlin. Derzeit ist sie wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Einstein Center Chronoi. Ihre Forschung konzentriert sich auf die religiöse Topographie, politische Strukturen und materielle Kultur des alten Vorderen Orients. Sie leitet seit mehreren Jahren archäologische Ausgrabungen in Irakisch-Kurdistan (Satu Qala, Qala Shila, Archaeological Survey of Koya Project) und hat zahlreiche Publikationen zu den Themen Urbanismus, Ritualräume und politische Geographie veröffentlicht.

Cinzia Pappi unterrichtet zu verschiedenen Themen der altorientalischen Archäologie und Geschichte, mit besonderem Fokus auf Mesopotamien. Ihre Lehrveranstaltungen umfassen die materielle Kultur, politische und religiöse Strukturen sowie Methoden der archäologischen Feldforschung. Sie legt besonderen Wert auf die interdisziplinäre Vermittlung und die praktische Anwendung von Forschungsergebnissen, unter anderem durch die Einbindung aktueller Ausgrabungsprojekte und epigraphischer Studien.
