+++CtG event+++ ASOR 2025, Vortrag: Enhancing Accessibility and Sustainability in Digital Humanities

19.11.2025 - 22.11.2025

The Closing the Gap research team will present their findings on enhancing accessibility and sustainability in digital humanities at the American Society of Overseas Research (ASOR) Annual Meeting in Boston.

Titled “Enhancing Accessibility and Sustainability in Digital Humanities,” this presentation will explore how design choices in digital projects, particularly those working with non-Latin scripts, affect long-term accessibility. Using data from Closing the Gap in Non-Latin-Script Data, the team identifies patterns linking platform selection, funding structures, and data-sharing practices to a project’s future viability.

Through a mixed-methods approach, the team will propose a framework for aligning project design with sustainable practices, emphasizing the roles of universities, funding bodies, and publishers in supporting accessible, durable digital resources.
