+++CtG event+++ Advancing AI Research in the Humanities: A Workshop for Scholars at the Intersection of Digital Humanities and Machine Learning

23.09.2025 - 24.09.2025

The Closing the Gap research team will present their AI-driven framework for enhancing the sustainability of non-Latin script (NLS) data at the Advancing AI Research in the Humanities: A Workshop for Scholars at the Intersection of Digital Humanities and Machine Learning in Berlin.

The presentation “AI-Augmented Visualizations and Dialogues for Sustainability Assessment in Non-Latin Script Research Data,” introduces a two-step approach combining interactive data visualizations and AI dialogue. The first step uses grouped bar charts to assess six key sustainability indicators for NLS research projects. The second step features a chatbot powered by LLaMA3, fine-tuned with sustainability literature, allowing users to query the data and dynamically explore trends.

This innovative approach demonstrates how AI can support long-term data preservation, empower scholars working with marginalized scripts, and drive digital humanities research forward.
