The Institute of Korean Studies (IKS) offers four MA scholarships by the Korea-Europe Programme starting in spring 2020 for one year. We welcome applications from highly qualified bachelor graduates from the field of Korean Studies
with a focus on social science.

Korea-Europe Programme is a new project starting in 2020 to train the next generation of experts in Europe on affairs related to Korea, led by FU Berlin-IKS.

The project is designed to offer educational opportunities to strengthen in-depth knowledge and skills that include a broad spectrum of all aspects of Korea and enable a career in academics, business, media, international organizations and
interculturally-oriented institutions. The project is composed of diverse and innovative educational programmes such as a summer school in Korea, prestigious scholars‘ special lectures, well-experienced experts‘ forums, and specific skill-focused workshops.

MA Scholarship recipients are expected to conduct their thesis research related to the Korea-Europe programme and contribute to launching the project by doing an active role. Excellent proficient in spoken and written Korean and English are required. Highly skilled in spoken and written German is preferred.
