Looking for a PhD in the Social Sciences? COME TO THE HERTIE SCHOOL OF GOVERNANCE

We are pleased to announce that the European University Institute is organising a presentation at the Hertie School of Governance to introduce its Doctoral Programme for the academic year 2015/2016. We would be very glad if you could spread this information among your best candidates by informing them about this presentation and the exceptional opportunities offered by the EUI’s Ph.D. Programme.

 The presentation will take place atthe the Hertie School of Governance (Quartier 110, Friedrichstraße 180, 10117 Berlin)on 4 December 2014, from 11:30 to 13:30.

Professor Pieter M. Judson, Professor of 19th and 20th Century History at the EUI, will present PhD programmes in Economics, History and Civilization, LawandPolitical and Social Sciences.

The EUI is a unique academic institution with one of the world’s largest doctoral and postdoctoral programmes in the social sciences. Our intellectual community is comprised of more than 1000 scholars from over 60 countries. Located in Florence, Italy, the EUI offers a structured doctoral programme with excellent supervision and opportunities to participate in cutting-edge research that transcends national academic traditions.

Since its establishment 40 years ago, the Institute has been committed to fostering the advancement of research in fields which are of particular interest for the development of Europe. The EUI promotes interdisciplinary research and provides training to prepare its graduates with the theoretical and applied skills needed for successful careers in leading universities, research-oriented organisations, international organisations and government agencies.

The Institute is looking for highly motivated and qualified researchers to further complement the already outstanding quality of our current scholars. Grants for doctoral candidates are available; last year 158 grants were on offer for successful candidates.
