The Office of Academic Affairs sends the request to all lecturers at the beginning of each lecture-free period. The notification of completed courses should then be sent to the Office of Academic Affairs within approx. 6 weeks.

The standard teaching obligation should generally always be fulfilled.
According to the Teaching Obligation Ordinance (LVVO), the last 6 semesters are taken into account. After this observation period, any plus or minus is officially forfeited.

The balance should therefore always be settled promptly within the 6 semesters.
However, it is only possible to balance plus hours if the compulsory teaching can be covered by other permanent employees. No teaching assignments can be necessary for this!

In accordance with §133 BerlHG, the above-mentioned persons receive a lump-sum allowance (teaching fee lump sum) for courses taught free of charge. You can find the claim form here.

A maximum of 2 SWS per semester are remunerated. The hourly rate for private lecturers is currently €76.70. The hourly rate for honorary professors and associate professors is currently €102.26.
