Since 2005, archaeological research has been carried out at Tell Fecheriye in northern Syria with the aim of comprehensively reconstructing the settlement history of this site. Since 2008, the focus has been on researching the Late Bronze Age periods in which the city was an important centre in the Mittani Empire and the subsequent Middle Assyrian Empire.
