Cinzia Pappi
We are delighted to welcome Dr Cinzia Pappi as a guest lecturer in the summer semester of 2025.
Dr Pappi is an ancient Near Eastern archaeologist, and a research associate at the Einstein Center Chronoi.
Her research focuses on religion and politics in Northern Mesopotamia in the 2nd and 1st millennia BCE. She has worked at several international universities, including the University of Leipzig, the University of Innsbruck, and Brown University.
Since 2010, she has been leading archaeological excavations and surveys in Iraqi Kurdistan. In the summer semester of 2025, she led an excursion to the Near Eastern Collection of the Louvre and a seminar in the Master's programme ‘Archaeology of the Ancient World’ on the reception of the Babylonian king Hammurabi.
