Mahmoud Kozae is in charge of designing and implementing the Digital Edition of Kalila and Dimna.

M. Kozae has been part of the project team since the start: he had worked for  "Kalīla wa Dimna – Wisdom Encoded“ (2015-2017), then continued on the AnonymClassic project (2018-2023) and ALC/Arabic Literature Cosmopolitan (2020-2027). His tasks focus on software development and machine-aided transcription processing, providing the conceptual and computational framework based on the LERA programme (Univ. Halle) for the Edition of the Arabic manuscript versions.

Mahmoud Kozae earned his B.Eng. in Telecommunications and Electronics at Tanta University, Egypt. Still a student himself, he tutored beginners’ introductory courses at IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Tanta Branch before working as software developer for Pushbot Inc. (Giza). His BA thesis in the field of Digital Humanities in Arabic Studies at Freie Universität Berlin deals with „A Quantitative Approach to the Stylistics of Pre-Islamic Poetry“.
