student-organized session as part of the ISME Lecture Series: Memory and Forgetting (In) the Middle East and Beyond

Join us for a hybrid panel discussion exploring conflict-memory dialogue and reconciliation in Lebanon and Iraq centering on those who have gone missing since the 1980s. Organized entirely by students, this event features three specialized speakers who will provide an overview of the discourse surrounding disappearances in Lebanon and Iraq. They will introduce trauma-based models for inclusive reconciliation that brings together people across denominations who have suffered these losses.

When: Monday, December 11, 2023 from 4:15pm to 6:00pm Where: In person at 2.2058 Seminarraum or virtual via Webex (https://fu-berlin.webex.com/fu-berlin-en/j.php?MTID=m72224311c77edb7a9829f6e6cc87739b)

Those interested in learning more about the academic, social, and cultural dimensions surrounding this topic are encouraged to attend. There will be opportunities to engage with speakers during a Q&A session.

Please see the attached agenda for a full schedule and further event details. Email [email address] with any questions.

We hope you can attend this insightful panel discussion on reclaiming identities and moving towards healing in the context of conflict and loss.
