On 15–16 September at DH Day at Ruhr University Bochum (RUB), Marwa M. Ahmed presents the Kalīla wa Dimna project in a talk titled“Kalīla wa Dimna: From Manuscript Collection and Segmentation to a Digital Edition.” The presentation shows how, built on LERA, the Kalīla wa Dimna Digital Edition offers open access to a curated selection of manuscript versions with facsimiles, rich metadata, transcriptions, and a synoptic collation system; to date, the team has collected and digitized more than 120 Arabic and Persian manuscripts, analyzing over 3,000 pages. Enabled by meticulous manual and AI-assisted segmentation of the text into semantic units, the Edition supports precise comparison across multiple versions running up to fifteen manuscripts side by side.
The presentation will be held in a hybrid format. Further information and registration details can be found at the link
