Silvana Greco is a sociologist based in Berlin, Milan and Castiglione delle Stiviere. She is an author, curator for art exhibitions and vice president of the Palazzo Bondoni Pastorio Foundation (Fondazone Palazzo Bondoni Pastorio).

In 1993 she graduated from Bocconi University in Milan with a master's degree in Economics before getting her Ph.D. in Sociology at the University of Milan in 2005 and completing her postdoctoral thesis in Sociology at the Technische Universität Dresden to qualify as a professor.

In 2022 she started teaching as a private lecturer for Sociology at the Institute for Sociology of Technische Universität Dresden.

She was appointed honorary professor for Sociology of Judaism at the Freie Universität Berlin in December of 2023.

As vice president of the Fondazione Palazzo Bondoni Pastorio she is responsable for designing and coordinating the foundation's cultural activities, i.e. the museum, contemporary art exhibitions, concerts, seminars and conferences, publications and academic research.

She has over 30 years of experience in research and over 20 years in teaching.

From 1998 to 2017 she worked as a consultant and research assistant in European projects that were being co-funded by research programs of the European Union. 

Between 2005 and 2023 she spent time as a lecturer and researcher at several European universities: Freie Universität Berlin, Università della Svizzera Italiana, IES Abroad in Milan, University of Milan and Milano-Bicocca, Università Commerciale L. Bocconi and Università degli Studi di Perugia.

Prof. Greco has published multiple books, monographs and papers in specialist journals and has participated at numerous international conferences.
