This Memorial Volume is dedicated to the late Professor D.N. MacKenzie (8 April 1926 – 13 October 2001) who started his career at the School of Oriental and African Studies (London) and was Professor for Iranian Studies at Göttingen University/Germany from 1975 until 1994. His untimely death in 2001 deprived the world of Iranian Studies of one of its most prominent scholars. The volume contains articles by C.G. Cereti, I. Colditz, A. Degener, Ph. Gignoux, Gh.
