The staff and members of the Institute of Iranian Studies hereby express their concern about the current situation in Iran and their sympathy for the people and their fate there. We stand in solidarity with the struggle for freedom, peace, prosperity and a dignified life.

The Linguistic (Pre-)History of the Indo-Iranian Frontier
The project “The Linguistic (Pre-)History of the Indo-Iranian Frontier” is a junior research group funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) within the Emmy Noether Program. It focuses on the languages of the so-called “Indo-Iranian Frontier” (present-day Afghanistan and Pakistan).

MA Iranian Studies
Our “MA Iranian Studies”, starting in the autumn semester 2019/20 ("Wintersemester"), is a two year (four semesters), full-time study programme convened in English leading to an internationally recognised Master of Arts in Iranian Studies.

Corpus Avesticum Berolinense
The CAB project (Corpus Avesticum Berolinense), carried out at the Institute of Iranian Studies of the Freie Universität Berlin, represents the first attempt to edit the entire Avestan Zoroastrian textual corpus within its ritual context, and to produce and offer both printed and digital editions of the texts.

Avestan Digital Archive
The Avestan Digital Archive (ADA) seeks to be a digital archive containing all Avestan manuscripts spread all over the world.

MPCD: Zoroastrian Middle Persian Corpus and Dictionary
The project “Zoroastrian Middle Persian: Corpus and Dictionary” (MPCD) aims to present the bulk of the Zoroastrian literature in Middle Persian (Pahlavi) language in the form of an annotated digital corpus, based directly on the most authoritative manuscripts of each text.

Institutsreihe Iranica
Since 1993 the Institute of Iranian Studies publishes the series Iranica , which serves as an international forum for distinguished Iranologists.
The series is edited by Prof. Macuch and Prof. Cantera.
