Habilitation Project

  • Since Sep 2016: Habilitation project: Zoroastrian religious literature in Classical New Persian and Gujarati: A critical study of their emergence, continuity and content along with an annotated edition of Ṣad Dar "Hundred Chapter / Gates (a Classical New Persian catechism in several pros and verse versions)". The preparatory work for the construction of a digital archive for all extant manuscripts as well as the Ṣad Dar edition has already been carried out at the Institute for Iranian Studies (IFA) of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW) in Vienna (Link).

Research Plan

  • Zoroastrian New Persian Revāyāt. A philological-religious study on the tradition of Zoroastrian literature in the New Persian language. The primary focus is to provide an annotated edition of both the individual and collective Persian Revāyāt. Furthermore, the project aims to present a religious-historical investigation of the Zoroastrian rituals and customs in the early modern period. (in preparation)
