What do we see when we are moving across the Mongolian monumental landscape? How do local inhabitants traditionally understand time and place through the landscape (and the sky)? How can we trace these conceptions in the language, in the historical sources, and in the ancient material culture? In this presentation, Dr. Dal Zovo will illustrate her interdisciplinary researches on ancient cosmologies and orientation, mobility, and funerary practices in Mongolia.
