Industrial Transformation in South Korea: National Industrial Strategy and Local Development Path Creation

FUIKS Korea Europe Center presents a special lecture series especially focus on the political economy in South Korea as part of the module of 21 Century Korea. For the first public lecture of the series, Dr Sukjin Yoon from the Incheon Institute will elaborate the industrial transformation in Korea by introducing the case of Incheon, South Korea.

Lecturer: Dr. Sukjin Yoon
(Research Fellow, The Incheon Institute (Republic of Korea) and Visiting Research Fellow, Global Development Institute, University of Manchester (UK))

Sukjin Yoon is a political economist specialising in industrial policy and regional development. He holds a Ph.D. in development policy and management from the University of Manchester. After obtaining his doctorate, he has worked as a policy researcher for more than seven years and advised a number of government agencies and private organisations in South Korea. His research interests include, but are not limited to, industrial clusters, special economic zones, foreign direct investment, and social and environmental upgrading.
