Short biography:
Chung Dong-Young, born on July 27, 1953, is the 44th Minister of Unification of the Republic of Korea. He holds a B.A. in Korean History from Seoul National University and an M.A. in Journalism from the University of Wales. A former journalist with MBC, Chung has had a distinguished political career, serving multiple terms in the National Assembly, as Chairman of the Uri Party, and as the Democratic presidential candidate in 2007. He brings decades of experience in politics, diplomacy, and inter-Korean affairs to his current role as Minister of Unification.
