The Institute for Korean Studies offers scholarships for BA+ and MA students enrolled at the Freie University Berlin (FUB) as part of the Korea Europe Center program.

Applications are open to students enrolled in BA+ Korean Studies, MA Korean Studies/East Asian Studies, and MA Integrated Korean Studies at the FUB. Proficiency in German, English, and Korean is recommended.

The scholarship duration varies, with the possibility of extension. The start date is flexible and depends on the availability of open scholarship slots. 

Please note that we hope that scholarship recipients participate in the Korea Europe Center’s activities (organizational and administrative tasks as well as team support). Applicants are asked to submit the following documents:

1. Motivation letter (including a draft concept for the planned MA thesis and a timeline)
2. Curriculum vitae (CV)
3. Current enrollment certificate (Winter Semester 2025/26)
4. Transcripts of records
5. Only for master students: Copy of the BA diploma
6. Optional: Language certificates

Das Institut für Koreastudien vergibt im Rahmen des Korea Europe Centers Stipendien für BA+ und Master Student*innen der Freien Universität Berlin.

Bewerben können sich Studierende im Kernfach BA+ Koreastudien, MA Koreastudien/Ostasienwissenschaften und MA Integrierte Koreastudien an der FUB. Kenntnisse in Deutsch, Englisch und Koreanisch sind erwünscht.

Die Laufzeit ist variabel und es existiert die Möglichkeit, zu verlängern. Der Förderbeginn ist flexibel und abhängig von der Verfügbarkeit freier Stipendienplätze.

Bitte beachten Sie, dass wir uns wünschen, dass Stipendiaten aktiv an Veranstaltungen und Projekten des Korea Europe Centers mitwirken (organisatorische und administrative Arbeit, Unterstützung des Teams). Bewerber:innen reichen bitte folgende Unterlagen ein:
