Research
The aim of the institute is the adaptation, transfer and further development of computer science methods in and for ancient studies.
This opens up a wide range of research questions and fields of application, ranging from the digital analysis of ancient texts and the semantic networking of historical knowledge to the computer-aided analysis of archaeological finds. The interdisciplinary collaboration between computer science and ancient studies opens up innovative ways of documenting and analyzing cultural-historical heritage and making it accessible in the long term - for research as well as for a wider public.
