In 1968 Egyptology was introduced at the Freie Universitaet Berlin and the Egyptological Seminar was founded. Since then the institute changed location twice: in 1993 the Egyptological Seminar moved with its library from Rudeloffweg to Altensteinstrasse 33, where it stayed until spring 2015, when together with 13 other institutions of the Department of History and Cultural studies, the Egyptological Seminar was re-located to the so called “Holzlaube” at Fabeckstrasse 23-25. The new library – Campusbibliothek – can also be found in the “Holzlaube”.
