The berlin you don’t see on the postcard!
What does Berlin look like beyond its famous landmarks and well-known historical sites? Join us for a walk through a different side of the city, which is shaped not only by famous monuments, but also by the people who came here, built communities, changed neighbourhoods, and left their mark on Berlin. Starting in Neukölln and making our way towards Kreuzberg, we will explore how Berlin has changed over time and how migration, cultural diversity, social movements, and everyday life have shaped the city we experience today. Along the way, we will uncover stories, history, and hidden green corners. This walking tour is an opportunity to see Berlin from a different perspective, discover some of the city’s lesser-known history, and, most importantly, get to know each other, share experiences, and build community while exploring and enjoying the walk together. Please keep in mind that we will be walking throughout the tour, so comfortable shoes are recommended. Berlin weather can be unpredictable, so come prepared with a jacket or umbrella if needed.
