The study and examination regulations for the master’s program are currently being revised and will become valid in the winter semester 2022/23. The revised master’s program will focus on Ottoman and Turkish history. Please note the following admission requirements:
For admission to the master’s program applicants must fulfill the following requirements:

- Proof of Turkish language skills (level B2 GER or higher) for students whose first university degree is not from an institution where Turkish is the language of instruction.
- Proof of English language skills (level B2 GER or higher) for students whose first university degree is not from an institution where English is the language of instruction or for whom English is not their first language.
Applicants who earned their first degree from a university (or equivalent institution) abroad are required to submit proof of their German language proficiency. Such proof can take the form of a DSH certificate permitting them to study at a German university or an equivalent qualification meeting the German language requirements for non-German candidates set out in Freie Universität Berlin’s relevant regulations (“Ordnung für die Deutsche Sprachprüfung”).
