Assaf Bar-Moshe holds a Ph.D. from the Hebrew University in Linguistics and Arabic Language, and specializes in Mesopotamian Jewish Arabic dialects. Having dedicated years for the research of the Jewish dialects of Baghdad and ˁĀna, Assaf is currently working in Freie Universität, Berlin on documenting additional Judeo-Arabic dialects towards a comparative analysis of Jewish Arabic dialects in the region. Beyond research, Assaf instructs Baghdadi Judeo-Arabic at the Oxford School of Rare Jewish Languages and published a textbook for the dialect.
