Korea Focus is an irregular publication of the Institute of Korean Studies at Freie Universität Berlin that is issued as part of the Institute’s Korea-Europe Programme. It is a research and training projectlaunched in January 2020 with financial support from the KDI School of Public Policy and Management’s public diplomacy project. The publication aims to serve as a platform for presenting research findings capable of fostering a comprehensive understanding of political, economic, and socio-cultural affairs in both North and South Korea. It also provides in-depth analyses of international political developments regarding the Korean peninsula and, finally, offering a forum for discussions about measures conducive to peace on the Korean peninsula. It is our hope and expectation that through a series of working papers introducing the outcomes of academic research and briefing papers offering current policy and political analyses Korea Focus will make a unique and essential contribution to the European discourse on Korea.
