Dr Sheona Davies

Sheona Davies studied at the Universities of Manchester and Nottingham. Her research interests include the cultural representation of the medieval German East in popular culture of the twentieth century. Sheona’s PhD thesis was submitted to the University of Nottingham in 2013 and was funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, UK. This thesis used literary sources, visual and material culture to explore the use of medieval history as legitimation for modern political projects. She has organised conferences and panels, and delivered research papers throughout the UK. Sheona is currently based in Berlin while undertaking post-doctoral research as part of the University of Swansea group of MWME.
