Personal Profile

Studies in Art History, Classical Archaeology, Auxiliary Science of History and Library Science in Munich, Bonn and Berlin (FU), Doctorate in 1990 with the dissertation ‘Imitare ecclesias nobiles. Die Kathedralen von Narbonne, Toulouse und Rodez und die nordfranzösische Rayonnantgotik im Languedoc.‘

1987 – 1991 assistant, later Suppléant maître assistant for early history of architecture at the Ecole d’architecture at the University Genf, 1991 – 1999 research assistant at the Seminar for Art History of the University Göttingen, 1995 – 1997 leave of absence for a research stay in Paris (habilitation grants from the DFG and the Deutsches Historisches Institut Paris); 1999 Habilitation with the dissertation ‘Auguste Perret, die Architekturdebatte und die ‘konservative Revolution’ in Frankreich, 1900-1930.’ 1999 – 2003 associate professor at the University Göttingen; 2001 – 2002 interim professor at the University Hannover and University Freiburg/Br. 2000/2001: Guest lecturer at the Centre Allemand d’Histoire De l’Art (subject of the study cycle: ‘Bauhaus in France’)
