GIOVE-Website (1999-2001)

The Giove website is the main official publication of the GIOVE project (The Giustiniani Collection in a Virtual Environment)Between 1999 and 2001 the project, sponsored by the European Commission as part of the Raphael Program and headed by Professor Silvia Danesi Squarzina (Università la Sapienza), reconstructed the history of the Giusiniani collection. The Staatliche Museen zu Berlin (Berlin National Museums) (Andreas Bienert, Marion Kaminski) were responsible for the project organization. Also taking part as academic project partners were: the Art History Museum of Vienna (Wolfgang Prohaska), the National Palaces and Gardens (Christoph M. Vogtherr, Gerd Bartoschek), and the Art History Department of Freie Universität (Rudolf Preimesberger, Eberhard König); the Art History Department (Maximilian Benker) also supervised, and continues to supervise, the GIOVE website.

Lectures from the Giove Conferences (1999-2001)
As part of the GIOVE project three conferences were held, each over several days, with a total of 41 lectures on the history of the Giustiniani collection and the history of collection in the Baroque era. These lectures were published on the Giove website by the Art History Department of Freie Universität. In addition, 20 of them are available as audio files.
