A warm welcome to the Institute of Jewish Studies at Freie Universität Berlin!

We are very pleased to welcome you – our first-semester students in the winter semester of 2025/26 – to the Institute of Jewish Studies. The beginning of your studies is an exciting time full of new impressions, encounters, and opportunities, and we would like to support you in the best possible way during this phase.

As a start, we cordially invite you to the Institute’s welcome event on 8 October 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. There you will receive important information about your studies and have the opportunity to meet your fellow students.

In addition, you will find helpful information about the mentoring program in the Mentoring section on our website, as well as an overview of offers and events during the first weeks at the FU. Please feel free to take a look there and at the academic calendar in order to prepare well for the start of your studies.
