The exhibition "Sacredness materialized - Jewish book art in ritual context” at the Kulturwerk of the Staatsbibliothek Berlin will run until 25 January 2026.

It explores Hebrew manuscripts beyond their aesthetic value and highlights the cultural and ritual context in which they were written and used. In doing so, it also assigns an important role to the scribes and offers a new perspective on Jewish book art.

The curators, Dr. Annett Martini and Dr. Dana Eichhorst, both from the Institute of Jewish Studies, offer 45-minute guided tours on three Thursdays at 5:30 p.m., on:

13 November 2025,
11 December 2025, and
22 January 2026.
