This new working group, led by Dr. Arnold Groh, is aimed at students and researchers from a wide range of disciplines who wish to acquire an initial methodological and linguistic toolkit for working with Yiddish textual sources. The focus is on gaining basic knowledge of script, vocabulary, and cultural-historical context, with the goal of reading and understanding Yiddish texts together. No prior knowledge is required – all are welcome who would like to explore the diversity of Yiddish culture from their respective perspectives.
