As part of the project “The Linguistic (Pre-)History of the Indo-Iranian Frontier,” Robert Tegethoff is currently investigating the prehistory of contemporary Indo-Aryan languages spoken along the border of Afghanistan and Pakistan, focusing on historical phonology and etymology. He is also engaged in editing the posthumous papers of Georg Buddruss (languages: Grangali, Shina).
