Historian, Dr. phil., research assistant, DFG-Research Group “Self-Narratives in Transcultural Perspective” at Berlin Free University (since September 2004); 1997 – 2000 Doctoral scholarship awarded by the DFG for the Research Training Group “Identity Research” at the University of Halle-Wittenberg; August 2001 – August 2004 research assistant and visiting scholar at the Research Centre Historical Anthropology of the Max-Planck-Institute for History at the University of Erfurt; September 2002 fellow at the Research Centre for European Enlightenment Potsdam; March 2004 – August 2004 postdoctoral scholarship awarded by the Fritz Thyssen Stiftung, University and Research Library Erfurt/Gotha; February – March 2008 visiting scholar at the Department of History, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia.

 

Research Areas:

Self-constitution and subjectivity; illness; violence; history of religious ideas; historical epistemology; history of historiography; theories and methods of historical sciences.
