Within the year-long series on "Global Philology: An International Lecture Series," held at the International Center for the Study of Ancient Text Cultures of Renmin University of China, Beijing, the three authors of the entry on Arabic Philology in the Philological Practices: A Comparative Historical Lexicon (Princeton University Press) give an overview over the latest academic positions on Arabic Philology as well as their personal research foci.

Prof. Dr. Beatrice Gruendler is head of Arabic Studies at Freie Universität Berlin and Principal Investigator of the ERC research project AnonymClassic (https://www.geschkult.fu-berlin.de/en/e/kalila-wa-dimna/index.html). Prof. Dr. Isabel Toral is director of the Berlin Graduate School Muslim Cultures and Societies at Freie Universität Berlin (https://www.geschkult.fu-berlin.de/e/semiarab/arabistik/Seminar/Mitarbeiterinnen-und-Mitarbeiter/Professuren/toral/index.html), and Prof. Dr. Islam Dayeh is director of the research programme: Zukunftsphilologie: Revisiting the Canons of Textual Scholarship (https://www.geschkult.fu-berlin.de/e/semiarab/arabistik/Seminar/Mitarbeiterinnen-und-Mitarbeiter/Professuren/Dayeh/index.html) and founding editor of the journal and monograph series Philological Encounters (Brill).
