Alexandra Fuchs is a first-year MA student at the Institute of Korean Studies, Freie Universität Berlin. She is enrolled in the Integrated Korean Studies master programme and is a scholarship holder in the Korea-Europe Programme. In 2019 she completed the Integrated Korean Studies bachelor programme, including a year-long exchange programme at Seoul National University from 2017 to 2018. Her BA thesis focused on the perception of biracial Korean celebrities in South Korean society. Currently, her primary areas of research interest are multiculturalism and social integration of cultural and ethnic minorities in the South Korean society as well as North Korean residents in South Korea and Inter-Korean relations. She plans on writing her MA thesis on the depiction of North Koreans in South Korean television dramas.
