Frohes Neues Jahr
News vom 22.12.2020
With the sudden onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the year 2020 has forced all of us to give new thought to a great number of things.
At the Institute of Korean Studies of Freie Universität Berlin, concern for each other’s health made us refrain from meeting face to face and prompted us to move all our classes and meetings online. Encouraged by your continued kind interest and support, we were nevertheless, in spite of such adverse conditions, able to engage in a wide range of activities, among them inaugurating the KDIS-FU IKS Korea-Europe Center in cooperation with our partners from the KDI School.
We were also able to enjoy the novel experience of exchanging ideas, in real time, with scholars from all over the world in a number of online lecture series. While COVID-19 may have prevented us from meeting in person, activities such as these
made us feel connected in this time of physical distance and isolation.
We hope our world will be a little kinder in the new year and wish all of you every happiness and the best of health in 2021.
