Beyond the Book: Digital Research, Presentation, and Sustainability invites submissions for the Berlin event on September 21/22, 2026. Two days are dedicated to exploring how digital research can move beyond the constraints of traditional scholarly formats, particularly in the context of Non-Latin script languages. The workshop focuses on the full research pipeline: how digital research is produced, how it is presented, and how it can be sustained over time. Our lead question is: how are we to deal adequately with the fact that computational research increasingly generates data, models, and analytical outputs that cannot be adequately represented through static text alone?

Contributions from researchers, developers, and practitioners in digital humanities, computational linguistics, and related fields are warmly welcomed. Submissions grounded in actual projects, implementations, and experiences are particularly encouraged, including contributions reflecting on challenges or unsuccessful approaches.

Thematic sections (each section will include a keynote lecture, two talks, and a panel discussion):

• NLP for Non-Latin Scripts
Contributions addressing computational approaches and outputs that challenge conventional scholarly representation.

• Digital Scholarly Communication
Work exploring innovative, interactive, and multimodal formats for presenting research.

• Sustainability of Digital Scholarship
Practical strategies for maintaining and preserving digital research outputs over time.

Please note that participation in the workshop is possible on site only.

Submission deadline: July 15, 2026
