Student Council
The Student Council Initiative (Fachschaftsinitiative, FSI) is the body representing the students of the Institute. It is elected by a full assembly of the student body. It currently comprises 12 members and deals with a broad range of topics. These include not only general day-to-day student affairs and all of the associated fields, both large and small (B.A. and M.A. advisors), and organizing student activities (field trips, tutorials) and Institute events and celebrations (semester celebration, video evenings, etc.), but also matters relating to university policy and politics, such as the representation of student interests in various bodies of the Institute and the university, and finally, international networking among almost all of the university’s students of archaeology as part of DASV e.V. (the Dachverband archäologischer Studierendenvertretungen (Federation of Representative Bodies of Students of Archaeology), online at www.dasv-ev.org). The main means of conveying information is the FSI’s own homepage (fachschaft-klarch.de.vu), which always offers information on current and upcoming activities.
