Ferdinand Möller Foundation

Since the mid-1990s the Ferdinand Möller Foundation has supported and funded the research of Andreas Hüneke on the National Socialist seizure of “degenerate art.” At the initiative of Wolfgang Wittrock, chairman of the foundation, the research unit “Degenerate Art” has been based at the Department for Art History of the Freie Universität Berlin since 2002. Since that time this has included the funding of individual researchers and assistants, as well as equipping the offices technically and the partial funding of business trips and material resources. In addition the Ferdinand Möller Foundation has entirely funded the staff and operating expenses in the implementation of an inventory of the confiscated works and the transfer of the data to a web-enabled system (eMuseumPlus). At the onset of 2010 the Foundation granted long-term funding of the research unit “Degenerate Art” in Berlin.
