In addition to these three main sponsors, the research of “degenerate art” has benefited from the donations of cooperating administrative bodies and thematically interested companies and institutions. Before the founding of the research unit the Cultural Foundation of the German Federal States funded the transfer of confiscated works and the existing research results to an Excel spreadsheet, which serves as the basis for the present multi-relational database. The Department of History and Cultural Studies at the Freie Universität Berlin supplied the research unit “Degenerate Art” with a room in the building at Koserstrasse 20 and undertook the costs of the server hosting the database. The Hermann Reemtsma Foundation (Hamburg) spontaneously committed to individual projects and assisted as needed in the partial and complete financing of the research unit. Zetcom AG (Bern, Berlin) provided the research unit with three licenses for the database MuseumPlus at no cost.
